Change the story.

I am not a parenting coach. I am a transformational coach, and parenting is one of the ways we become cyclebreakers. Most people come to me for their child. They discover, somewhere in the work, that the change was theirs to make all along.

The work

You come for your child. The work turns out to be you.

A child who is struggling, strong-willed, shutting you out, is often the thing that finally makes a person stop and look. That is where the real work begins, and it is rarely where people expect. The parent changing is the cause. The child changing is the proof.

So parenting here is a doorway, not the destination. On the other side of it is the harder, truer question: what story am I living out without meaning to, and am I willing to change it?

The belief underneath it

We are not at the mercy of nature, or of nurture.

So much of how we parent, and how we live, runs on inheritance: what was done to us, what we were told we are, what the family has always done. It can feel fixed. It is not. To become a cyclebreaker is to decide, actively, that the story stops being something that happens to you and becomes something you author.

That is not a small ask, and it is not done through willpower or shame. It is done through understanding, through the nervous system, through attachment, and through a kind of honesty most of us were never shown. The only way out is through.

We change the story not because we should,
but because we love enough to be the change.

Who it's for

For the person who is ready to stop repeating it.

Often it is a woman who has held everything together everywhere except at home. Accomplished, capable, and quietly undone by the one relationship she cannot manage her way through. She comes for her child. She stays because, for the first time, someone is asking about her.

My story

I did not learn this from a book. I lived it.

Angelique Mastoroudes

My son was fourteen when he started becoming someone I did not recognise. We tried everything. Psychologists, coaches, all of it. And somewhere in the middle of trying to change him, I found the thing that actually changed everything: I watched myself change by watching him change. We were a closed system. I did not have to change him. I had to become better, and he copied better. We became better together.

The parent changing is the cause. The child changing is the proof.

Why now

It does not stay still.

This rarely holds steady on its own. Left alone, the gap widens. The patterns harden. The child learns that this is simply how it is between you, and they stop expecting anything else. And as they get older, the stakes stop being about attitude and start being about the choices they make when you are not in the room.

You can still change it. Not by demanding they change, their brain is not built for that yet, but by becoming someone they trust enough to listen to. That takes time, and the time to start is while you still have it.

Start

If any of this is landing, let's talk.

No pressure and no pitch. A conversation to see whether this is the work you are actually ready for, and whether I am the person to do it with you.
